Making It Awesome
A fan of John Green, when I found out that he was coming out with a new book and that he would be signing every pre-ordered copy, I jumped at the chance to own “The Fault in Our Stars”
Jump to January.
The book comes out and I eagerly await the joy of having the package arrive at my door.
Amazon says it will show up on January 12th.
I get up that morning with more energy than I’ve had all week. I shower faster than I have in a while. I’m ready for school sooner than I’ve been in a while.
“Remember, Daddy, I have a package coming in the mail today so you have to be here in case they deliver it while I’m at school.”
Yes. I still call me father “daddy”.
He laughs and says there’s no way he could forget, it’s all I’ve talked about since it mailed.
School is slower than I can remember. The first four classes go by quickly, and lunch does too but Fifth period seems to take hours, and six and seventh take days.
I get home.
I wait.
And wait.
And wait.
Nothing.
My mom suggests I help make dinner, so I do: Porkchop’s with apples and onions (with a side of pasta), my specialty.
bzzt
Amazon text’s me to tell me that the package has arrived.
But it hasn’t! There was no ring at the door! No honk of the UPS truck! Nothing! No! This can’t be true! Oh GOD! They delivered it to the wrong house! Some jerk has my book! Some UNAWESOME guy is going to use my book as firewood! OH GOD WHAT DO I DO!?
“Have you checked the mail box?” My mother suggests when she see’s me about to burst into tears.
My mother is a saint.

And It’s a green sig.
